As an education manager working with local and national training providers to provide NHS Community based staff with NVQ’s, I can thoroughly recommend Acorn Training Services.
Acorn’s NVQ programmes are delivered “in house” at a time that suits the candidate and the setting. This style of delivery does away with the time constricting college attendance, while also putting the candidate firmly at the centre of the process. As a result, Acorns assessors can really see what the candidate does and how he or she does it; something that a traditional college delivery model is often unable to do.
Generally speaking, my candidates prefer Acorns delivery style, and the numbers of successful candidates achieving their NVQ’s within a year of starting supports my view that Acorn are a very professional and worthy organisation to do business with.
I continue to wish Acorn well, and thank them for their continued commitment to NVQ training for my staff working in the NHS Community regions of East Kent.

Yoakley House
Acorn Training Services Ltd has been delivering the training and assessment of NVQ’s with Yoakley House since January 2005.
They have delivered NVQ’s level 2 and 3 under Profit from Learning. Level 3’s and A1 awards under Action for Attainment plus.
The delivery method was of a high quality, flexible and responsive to the candidates needs. There were candidates that only worked night shifts and weekends, some who lacked confidence and needed lots of support, throughout Acorn accommodated these needs with no disruption to the home, clients or staff, which enabled all 10 candidates to achieve, with 3 of them progressing to other awards.
I have no hesitation in continuing to use them or recommend them to others, and as a manager I have been kept informed and involved in the candidate’s progress throughout.

Dear acorntrainingservices.co.uk
As you know the Home Office strategy for improving performance in race and diversity 2004-2009 requires police forces to assess staff as competent against diversity national occupational standards. This means we urgently need assessors who are occupationally competent in diversity and are qualified to the A1 assessor standard.
We are extremely grateful for the flexibility and professionalism you have demonstrated in the delivery of an A1 assessor development programme for us. We now have 40 staff engaged on the programme as trainee assessors and another 4 staff undergoing V1 training with you.
Feedback from the candidates has been excellent. The initial 2-day inductions that you delivered in our workplace were clear and instructive. It was very useful to have the requirements placed into a policing context.
We are especially grateful for the follow up support that your staff have given the candidates. This has gone far beyond what we had hoped for. As a result we anticipate our staff completing the course very soon which will go a long way to helping us achieve our targets.
Several candidates have indicated their desire to progress to the V1 award and it is encouraging to see this level of professional enthusiasm in our staff.
I have no hestitation in thoroughly recommending your training services and staff.
Yours sincerely,
Paul Rodford
